Pınar is a Research Associate for algorithmic transparency, specializing in human-computer interaction and the societal effects of systems that use machine learning. Pınar has a BA in Cultural Studies & Communication and Gender Studies, an MA in Interaction Design, and experience in the industry as a User Experience and Service Designer. Pınar has been a part of the Transparency in Algorithms Multidisciplinary Research Group at CYENS Centre of Excellence since 2018. Their main research interests are at the intersection of social justice and technology, which is complemented by their activism outside of work. While contributing to all steps in research, Pınar brings social science expertise and qualitative analysis skills into the team.
