HCOMP CI 2023 – Investigating Public Acceptance of Shared Autonomous Vehicles

fAIre research associate, and OUC Adjunct Lecturer (MSc in HCI) Dr. Evgenia Christoforou, along with Jahna Otterbacher and Carla Fabiana Chiasserini (Prof., Politecnico di Torino) presented their work on “Investigating Public Acceptance of Shared Autonomous Vehicles.” Given that the main threat to safety of the road is the human driver, but that the self-drive cars of the near future will be too expensive for the average citizen to own, the study investigates which factors drive people’s willingness to share such a vehicle with others. The study was carried out in the context of the RIF project EXCELLENCE/0421/0360 (KeepA(n)I).
